:: General Questions ::

What is SCLTC?
SCLTC is the Southern California LEGO Train Club. We are a group of LEGO enthusiasts who love trains and live in Southern California. We focus our attention on combining our collections to build large layouts for our own entertainment and public display.

When and where do you meet?
To make plans and check our progress, SCLTC holds regular meetings at members' houses about once per month. We usually bring our LEGO train stock to share and critique, and occasionally bring the large sections of the layouts which we have been working on at home. Check our calendar for information about upcoming meetings.

:: Display Questions ::

How often do you display?
We are planning on displaying around 6 times per year, but may do more, depending on what opportunities arise.

How long did it take to build?
We started sections of our layouts back in September 2001. Each show is larger and more elaborate than the first, requiring more and more time to expand and build.

How many bricks are in your layout?
We honestly don't know, but are pretty sure there are too many to count! Some members' sections may have around 100,000 pieces!

How do you get it there?
Individuals pack their own cars, and some now have their own moving crates. Some members bring the table and set up their stuff on top of it, and others carry their tables with their buildings already attached.

Where do you get your parts?
We get our parts from the same place as everyone else: stores, Shop@Home, LEGO outlets, BrickLink, LUGOLA meetings, and even garage sales.

:: Legal Questions ::

Are you a non-profit organization?
Our club is currently not a legal entity at all. We do not exist for profit, but only the expansion of our hobby and our love of what we do.

Are you sponsored by LEGO?
SCLTC is not affiliated with or sponsored by any organization or business, including The LEGO Company. This means we do not receive free parts, trips, tickets, etc., or discounts on such things.
